Human Oligosaccharides are unique nutrients natural to the human body as they are identical in structure to those present in mothers' milk and similar to those in the protective lining of the intestinal tract. 

Human intestines contain approximately 100.000 billion bacteria (corresponding to ~ 750 g of bacteria). The bacteria are necessary for the human health as they digest food, produce vitamins, control bowel movements, regulate our immune system, and keep pathogens under control.

HiMO is our name for the test product, which contains the lead human oligosaccharide most abundant in mothers' milk (2-FL).

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has authorized our HiMO product as safe for human consumption.

We produce our HiMO product at our large - scale food grade and ISO certified facility in Esbjerg.

The HiMO product is manufactured at our large scale, food grade, manufacturing site in Esbjerg. The final product is packed under Food grade quality standards at our mixing and packaging facility in Hørsholm before being shipped to you. Glycom A/S is registered as a Food Business Operator.

Our HiMO product has been certified as safe by both the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Glycom A/S holds the following certificates for the final product:

Hundreds of babies and adults in Europe have taken our HiMO – at much higher doses than we are suggesting for this test program - without problems or major side effects. HiMO have been certified as safe by both the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

You may experience an increase in abdominal sensations such as rumbling, bloating or passing gas. These sensations should pass within the first few days. If you experience lasting side effects, or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us HiMOexperience@glycom.com, or seek medical help.

Yes you may. Our HiMO are manufactured human oligosaccharides for human consumption and also found in high concentrations in mother's milk.

HiMO may be consumed while taking antibiotics.

HiMO is not a medicine, but a food. The European Food and Safety Authority (EFSA) has authorized our HiMO product as safe for human consumption. However, we recommend you consult your doctor. 

HiMO may be consumed while taking food supplement / vitamins.

Each daily dose of HiMO contains less than 0.2 g of lactose which is too low to trigger symptoms of lactose intolerance.

HiMO is gluten free.

HiMO may contain traces of milk protein, and is therefore not recommended for people with milk protein allergy.

The HiMO product does not contain any artificial flavours, preservatives or colourings.

The effect of HiMO on dental health has not been studied. However, HiMO contain soluble fibres which are only digested in the colon and therefore should not have any negative impact on dental health.

Yes, they may try it, and HiMO is perfectly safe. Please see Q&A above about safety. If they wish to sign up for the HiMOexperience test program themselves, they are very welcome. They just need to go to www.HiMOexperience.com and sign up.

Don't worry if you skip a day.
Just continue taking HiMO the next day with the daily recommended dose.

HiMO will be shipped to you by mail once you have completed the relevant survey.

You will receive the product by mail to the address you provided when you registered.

Each survey will take about 5 – 7 minutes to complete. There are 5 web-based surveys in total; a baseline survey followed by a 3, 6, 9 and 12 weeks survey.

Yes you are very welcome to refer new people to the test program. Simply tell them to go to the www.HiMOexperience.com site to register.

You can at any given time decide to leave the HiMOexperience test program if you so wish. Please follow the instructions in any of the emails sent to you with the link to the surverys.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to buy our HiMO product. The 12-week program is created to collect and examine data regarding the possible effects of ingestion of HiMO.

You can take the product at any time of the day to suit you. You do not need to take HiMO together with a meal. We recommend that you incorporate the product into your daily routine so you remember to take it regularly.

Some of our test participants find the taste slightly sweet, especially if you eat it directly from the jar or onto neutral yogurt. Most people find, that the taste disappears when you dissolve the product in water or other liquid. You might detect a slight scent of vinegar when opening the jar.

Yes, please dissolve one measured scoop of HiMO in a glass of water/juice/tea/coffee or any cold or warm food.

HiMO contains 2 calories per gram, which means you will get approximately 6 – 8 calories per daily dose.

Please store in a dry place protected from direct sunlight

Yes, you can take HiMO across the borders in the jar with the label on it. The label is in line with the EU labelling regulation and we follow the legal obligations connected to a dietary supplement in the EU.
